Broadwindsor House

Luxury Residential Care

We offer luxury residential care from our grade II listed former vicarage, built in 1838 and set in it’s own gardens in Broadwindsor, not far from Beaminster and Bridport in Dorset.

Welcome

Broadwindsor House is a Grade II listed manor house in the heart of the village and community of Broadwindsor, just six miles from the Jurassic Coast and five miles from the mainline railway station at Crewkerne.

Just two miles away is one of Hardy’s favourite towns, Beaminster, with over 200 listed buildings and a full range of places for a light meal snack or just a cup of fresh tea. For cricket lovers, we are neighbours with Broadwindsor Cricket Club and have unrestricted views of the pitch, for those perfect summer days when we drink tea and watch cricket from the terrace.

The house is a former vicarage built in 1838 by I H Good (London) for Rev G Denison . It was converted into a care home forty years ago. The building has recently undergone extensive renovation work and an expansion project which has given us additional new rooms which front on to our magnificent gardens. All of which goes towards making Broadwindsor House one of the leading care homes in the South West.

We are very proud of Broadwindsor House and we work hard to ensure that Broadwindsor House is a safe environment with a joyful homely atmosphere where there is always plenty of fun and laughter so that our residents feel well cared for, happy and relaxed. Our carefully chosen team of carers are key to our philosophy and are always on hand to help you.

Families are always very welcome at Broadwindsor House, whether for a special occasion such as birthdays or an anniversary, Christmas Lunch and all high days and holidays. Our team recognises that a family atmosphere is very important to the wellbeing of our home.

Come and visit us and you will feel the love and hear the laughter. Creating a fun and enjoyable home is important to us as we want to enrich and enhance the lives of those who have chosen to make Broadwindsor House their home.

I look forward to welcoming you to Broadwindsor House.

We have made sure that our bedrooms and suites are of the highest standards. Fresh fluffy white towels are the order of the day, along with crisp bed linen and delicious duvets. We have 22 rooms most of which have en suite wet rooms and all have been refurbished with new furniture and electronically adjustable beds and are redecorated and updated regularly.

We also have a walk in spa bath which is a great hit with our residents who enjoy the luxury of relaxing in a warm bath.

Our rooms have their own TV and there is also internet broadband and wi-fi throughout the building. The lounge has a wide screen TV and panoramic views of our beautiful gardens and the cricket pitch next door.

There is a selection of accommodation to choose from, including individual suites with a private lounge area and bathroom, or spacious bedrooms with living areas and en suite bathrooms.

The Summer House and Orangery Cafe are available to book for visits to your family member or loved one so that you can have your own private space where you can enjoy tea or a picnic overlooking the garden.

Supporting our residents

It can be a daunting prospect to move into full time care. We understand how frightening and stressful this transition can be for families and friends too.

Families are always welcome to join their relatives at Broadwindsor House, ahare lunch, pop in for a chat or just sit and read the paper.

We have a tea room, which can be reserved, and a garden room to take in the splendour of the grounds if you prefer to be outside.

Each moment is precious, a treasure in it’s own way.
